Re: Just something

Not sure what kind of amp you have Frank but if it is an old vacuum tube
amp but, from the sound of the 60Hz hum on your video, you may need to have
the filter caps replaced as they dry out after 15-20years and no longer do
their job. In this case an external hum filter or switching the plug around
will likely not solve the problem...BTW if you have an old amp with a two
prong power cord and no ground pin on the plug you want to replace the power
cord with a three pin grounded cord as you can get a pretty serious shock
if you have the plug plugged in the wrong polarity and you happen to touch
the guitar strings and your body makes contact with earth somehow.......If
you have ever gotten bitten ( shocked) by a microphone on stage you know
what I mean.........Unless you know something about electronics I don't
recommend poking around inside the amp as there are high voltages stored on
the caps which could kill you. take it to a local repair tech and have him
do it for you..........if you know about amps then it is a easy fix in
couple of hours with a soldering iron change the caps and power cord.......
